The Kentucky state flag got authorized on March 26, 1918. The Kentucky state flag has the people, goldenrods, and state motto on it, because it is the Kentucky state seal. The people on the state flag (a pioneer and a statesman) stand for all the people and they are representing the state motto "United We Stand, Divided We Fall."
